The Hague centrum
The Hague is the Dutch political capital. Most foreign embassies and 150 international organisations are located in the city, including the International Court of Justice and the International Criminal Court, which makes The Hague one of the major cities hosting the United Nations. The King Willem-Alexander plans to live at Huis ten Bosch and works at Noordeinde Palace in The Hague, together with Queen Máxima.
Located in the province of South Holland, 9 km from The Hague and 18 km from Rotterdam, Delft is one of the oldest centers of the country, it has already been mentioned in 1062. Delft also became famous for its earthenware factories, dating from mid-seventeenth century. The apogee of this industry, which was inspired initially in Chinese models, is between 1680 and 1740. The entire European ceramics suffered influences of Delft. Delft hosts still one of the most renowned technical universities in Europe, the Technical University of Delft.
With 25,000 inhabitants, Wassenaar is famous for being the official residence of the monarchy. Here live the King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands, his wife, Queen Máxima of the Netherlands and her daughters. The city also hosts a large community of foreigners – diplomats and businessmen. Surrounded by parks and a network of cycle paths, the small Wassenaar is well known in the Netherlands for their visible wealth. In the city center, there are upscale shops, delis and bakeries, as well as a café, a bar and a restaurant. Wassenaar has the best ice cream shop in the Netherlands. Space is always full of people throughout the spring, summer and fall.
The Capital of the country, plus Commercial and Cultural Capital. It is one of the top financial centres in Europe. Keukenhof* (April to May)
The Keukenhof, the best day out among the flowers! There are more than 7 million bulbs in bloom in Spring, with a total of 800 varieties of tulips. A unique and unforgettable experience!
Giethoorn (June to September)
That’s where we’ll take you after the 2017 season Keukenhof ends. This small, secular village has barges and gondolas, which are the main means of transport. Giethoorn is in the middle of a nature reserve (De Wieden) and in the vicinity of Weerribben National Park. Fairy tale setting!
